WorléeKyd S 5703

WorléeKyd S 5703 is an aliphatic long oil alkyd resin, mainly for use in light coloured wood coatings, parquet and architectural coatings. Application as WorléeKyd B 865 U, but with better resistance to yellowing

Compatibility
WorléeKyd S 5703 is compatible with the majority of medium and long oil types air drying alkyd resins and with nearly all maleic and phenolic modified hard resins.

Solubility
WorléeKyd S 5703 is soluble in all common solvents.

Application and Properties
WorléeKyd S 5703 is mainly recommended as the only binder or in combination with long oil alkyd resins for high quality interior and exterior wood varnishes and parquet sealers.

Varnishes based on WorléeKyd S 5703 are fast drying with a high degree of hardness and good gloss.

Due to the good compatibility with long oil type alkyd resins, WorléeKyd S 5703 can also be used as a combination resin reducing the drying time and increasing the hardness and the resistance properties.

When paints or lacquers based on WorléeKyd S 5703 are applied by conventional or airless spray, only water irrigated spraying cabinets are recommended as the spraying dust tends to self-ignition if it is dry. The spraying dust has to be disposed carefully.

Driers

The following driers are recommended for Cobalt-containing:

0.02 – 0.05% Co
0.03 – 0.08% Zr
0.10 – 0.20% Ca
calculated on solid alkyd resin

Cobalt-free:

approx. 1% Nuodex Drycoat (Venator) (on solid binder) and in addition
0.10 – 0.20% Ca
0.10 – 0.15% Zr
(metal on solid binder)

Shelf Life
The storage stability of WorléeKyd S 5703 in the originally closed barrel is at a storage temperature from +5 to +25 °C six months, counted from the day of the delivery ex works.
