WorléeAdd 458

Nitrite-free flash rust inhibitor for aqueous coatings

Recommended Uses
Corrosion inhibitor to avoid formation of flash rust caused by applying waterborne coating systems on ferrous metal substrates. On top of an “anodic” action (precipitation of an insoluble salt at the metal surface) WorléeAdd 458 is forming a film, which prevents the appearance of rust discoloration, wellknown as “flash rust” during the paint application.

WorléeAdd 458 can be used in emulsion paints as well as in water-borne anticorrosion paints. WorléeAdd 458 is liquid and can be incorporated during any stage of the production process but also post-added. It is most effective at an alkaline or neutral pH. Typical use level is 0.5 – 2.0% on total formulation.

Incorporation
WorléeAdd 458 should preferably be incorporated with agitation at the end of the production process and before the final thinning step. Optimal use levels for specific formulations should be evaluated by laboratory tests. If assistance is needed, please contact your Worlée representative
