TMI Büchel Bending Resistance Tester 79-56

Flexible bending testing for different test types and standards

The TMI Büchel 79-56 Bending Resistance Tester is a user-friendly, microprocessor-controlled instrument designed to determine the bending resistance of materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic films, medical tubing, and wire. The instrument can perform five different tests: Score Bend, Score Perforation, Break Force, Taber Stiffness, Bending Resistance, and Spring Back.

Bending resistance is the resistance of paper, cardboard, films, and similar materials against bending. Although the bending resistance tester was originally developed to provide more concise and consistent measurements for the paper industry, it is also widely used in personal care products, paper, film, packaging, and nonwoven industries.

The two-point testing method secures the sample with a pneumatic clamp and bends it up to 90° against a force transducer. What makes the bending resistance tester unique is its versatility and precision. Bending forces can be measured at selectable bend angles between 5° and 90°. The instrument is available with a 100 g or 1000 g precision load cell.
