Solvent-Based Alkyd Resins

WorléeKyd
Alkyd resins, solvent-based, short oil, air-drying

The group of alkyd resins is one of the largest binder groups due to its diversity. These resins are generally divided into short-oil alkyd resins (< 40 %), medium-oil alkyd resins (approx. 40–60 %) and long-oil alkyd resins (> 60 %) based on their oil content. The properties are largely determined by the use of different fatty acids and different modifications. The urethanized and thixotropic alkyd resins are listed as a separate group. The short and medium oil alkyd resin coatings are mainly used in the industrial sector, while the long oil types are used in the painting and construction sector.

WorléeKyd V 5241 U 81 Linseed oil urethane max. 3 10,000–15,000 [100s-1] ca.100 WorléeKyd V 5241 U is a low-viscosity linseed oil-modified polyurethane for the production ofhigh-solids, environmentally friendly coating systems. The renewable raw material content is approximately 80 %. It is particularly suitable for the production ofwood preservative impregnationsand wood preservative vanishes use. By combining it with medium-, long-, and faster-drying urethane-modified alkyd resins, it canbe used to produce highly weather-resistant, high-solids clearcoats and primers.

WorléeKyd
Alkyd resins, solvent-based, oven-drying, cross-linked, NC-combination

In stoving enamels, short-oil alkyd resins are combined with amino resins or phenolic resins. The reaction of the alkyd resin containing hydroxyl groups with the amino resins can influence properties such as flexibility, hardness, resistance, etc. Alkyd resins are also found in this binder group as combination partners for NC combination coating systems.
