Compatibility
WorléeKyd L 8004 is compatible with most air-drying medium and long oil alkyd resins.

Solubility
WorléeKyd L 8004 is soluble in all usual solvents.

Application and Properties
WorléeKyd L 8004 is a low-viscosity alkyd resin. WorléeKyd L 8004 is particularly suitable for the formulation of VOC compliant wood glazings, wood paints, high quality clear coats and special anticorrosion primers.

WorléeKyd L 8004 is characterised by an excellent permanent elasticity, very good weather resistance and very good penetration. Especially in woodglazings thixotropic binders as e. g. WorléeThix S 6051, WorléeThix S 6658 or WorléeThix S 6357 are suitable as combination partner for the WorléeKyd L 8004.

This can create drip-inhibited or also stongly thixotropic glazings. In clear coats a combination with urethane modified alkyd resins as e. g. WorléeKyd B 865 U or also WorléeKyd S 5703 makes sense. Good drying, tough elastic and abrasion-resistant systems are achieved.

Driers
Following driers are recommended for WorléeKyd L 8004:

Cobalt-containing:

0.04 – 0.06% Co
0.10 – 0.15% Zr
0.10 – 0.30% Ca
(metal calculated on solid alkyd resin)

Cobalt-free:
approx. 1% Nuodex Drycoat (Rockwood)
(on solid binder)

and in addition:
0.10 – 0.30% Ca
0.10 – 0.15% Zr
(Metal on solid binder)

Shelf Life
The storage stability of WorléeKyd L 8004 in the originally closed barrel is at a storage temperature from + 5 to + 25 °C nine months, counted from the day of the delivery ex works.
