Dust Test Kit

Ensure the surface is ready for paint, ink, or coating application with the TQC Sheen Dust Test Kit. Quickly and accurately assess the quantity and size of dust particles present using a test and inspection solution compliant with ISO 8502-3.

The TQC Dust Test Kit is used in accordance with TS EN ISO 8502-3 to assess the quantity and size of dust particles present on prepared surfaces prior to painting. Dust on surfaces cleaned by blasting can reduce paint adhesion, lead to premature coating failure, and result in a non-compliant finish appearance.

Following the recommendations of TS EN ISO 8502-3, the Dust Test Kit can be used either as a “pass/fail” inspection or to maintain a permanent record of dust presence. To ensure accurate and repeatable tests, an optional spring-loaded roller is recommended to apply consistent pressure to the test tape, minimizing operator error.

  • Heavy-duty folder with compartments for all necessary forms, visual comparator chart, adhesive tape, scissors, and illuminated magnifier. The folder closes securely with a Velcro strap to protect its contents.
  • Reporting forms with fields for various test results. All data required by TS EN ISO 8502-3—checkboxes and predefined entry fields—are included to ensure complete and valid documentation.
  • Evaluation chart that clearly shows various quantity ratings, along with a unique size comparison guide for light and dark dust particles. The chart also features both black and white contrast backgrounds.
  • Pictorial instructions illustrating the test method, usable regardless of language. The sample transfer sheet is made from high-transparency, scratch-resistant plastic and marked with printed tape positions.
  • Robust folder suitable for field use. Keeps all forms and accessories securely organized and fastened with a Velcro strap—no loose parts.
  • Illuminated magnifier with real glass lenses for a clear view (no plastic lenses).
