Dip Type DIN 53211 Flow Cup

The Dip Type DIN 53211 Flow Cup is a standardized test instrument used for quickly, practically, and reliably measuring the viscosity of paints, varnishes, inks, and other liquids. Viscosity is the resistance of a fluid to flow and is a key parameter directly affecting coating performance, leveling behavior, and application quality.

Thanks to its dip type design, the flow cup can be directly immersed into the liquid being measured. This feature allows on-site, rapid measurements without the need to transfer the sample to a separate container, providing a significant advantage for production line controls and field applications. During measurement, the emptying time of the cup is determined with a stopwatch, and the viscosity value is calculated based on this duration.

These flow cups are manufactured with high precision and feature an internal geometry that complies with the DIN 53211 standard. The orifice is made of stainless steel to enhance durability. The ergonomic handle design makes it ideal for direct dipping into tanks or production vessels.

TQC dip type DIN cups are available in two models: titanium-anodized aluminum and full stainless steel, providing solutions suitable for different working environments and durability requirements.

Although the DIN 53211 standard primarily defines a flow cup with a 4 mm orifice, alternative models with 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8 mm orifices have also been developed to measure liquids across different viscosity ranges while maintaining the same internal geometry. These alternatives have become widely used in industrial applications.
