The TQC Sheen Pendulum Hardness Tester is a precision instrument featuring unique functionalities that facilitate hardness testing according to the König or Persoz methods, as specified in ISO 1522. Both methods are based on the damping time of a pendulum oscillating on a surface, which correlates to the surface hardness of the coating.
The device features an intuitive interface operated via a push-and-turn control knob. Its automated electronic counting mechanism is unaffected by reflections in the surrounding environment. The spirit level is mounted directly on the test specimen, not the device base, ensuring accurate leveling. Once leveled, the device does not require recalibration. The fully opening transparent lid, supported by a damper, allows easy access to all internal components.
The TQC Sheen Pendulum Hardness Tester has a modular design and can be used with either the König or Persoz pendulum. Both pendulums can be ordered separately or together. Once the correct pendulum is installed, the measurement system can be switched at the press of a button. The pendulum is automatically positioned by a stepper motor, and the release mechanism is fully automated using an electromagnetic system. Upon completion of the test, the instrument provides both visual and audible alerts.
