The Machu Scratching Tool is a professional surface preparation device designed to create standardized scratches on test panels prior to Machu corrosion and salt spray testing. Developed in accordance with ISO 17872, it produces controlled cuts through the coating layer down to the metal substrate, ensuring reliable and repeatable corrosion resistance test results.

The scratch created during the Machu test allows the corrosion resistance of coatings in damaged areas to be evaluated. Available in both basic (CC2000) and professional (CC3000) versions, the device offers high accuracy across different coating systems thanks to its adjustable cutting depth and precision guidance mechanism. The professional model is particularly valued for its controlled cutting capability, which is essential for achieving highly repeatable test results.

Two models are available:
The Basic Machu Test Knife is based on the CC2000 model. This tool features a self-positioning blade holder, allowing a perpendicular cut through the coating to expose the coated surface.

The Professional Machu Test Knife is based on the CC3000 Cross-Cut model and features adjustable cutting depth and dual guide rollers for precise control. Adjustable depth is crucial for ensuring repeatable and consistent test results.
