Testex Replica Tape – Press O-Film

Testex Replica Tape – Press-O-Film
Replica tape for measuring the surface roughness of blasted surfaces

Testex replica tapes are used for measuring the surface roughness of blasted surfaces. By applying the TQC Testex replica tape to the surface and rubbing it firmly, the surface profile — Rt (total roughness) or peak-to-valley height — is transferred onto the tape. This replica can then be measured using a film thickness gauge.

  • TQC Testex replica tape consists of a compressible foam layer bonded to a non-compressible polyester backing.
  • When pressed against a rough steel surface, the foam collapses, conforming to the surface profile and recording it on the tape.
  • To obtain the surface profile measurement, place the compressed tape into the SP1570 Micrometric Film Thickness Gauge. Subtract the fixed thickness of the non-compressible substrate (50 µm) from the total reading.

One box of Testex Tape contains enough material for 50 measurements.
