MFFT-Minimum Film Forming Temperature Bar
Temperature gradient plate for determining minimum film forming temperature test
The TQC Sheen MFFT (Minimum Film Formation Temperature) device is a professional testing instrument developed to analyze the film-forming behavior of water-based emulsions, latex systems, polymer dispersions, and adhesives. It precisely determines the lowest temperature at which a material can form a continuous and uniform film (MFFT), providing critical data for formulation and quality control processes.
Thanks to its heated and cooled gradient plate, different temperature zones are created across the sample surface, allowing film formation to be observed over a wide temperature range in a single test. At the end of the drying process, the boundary point where cracking or whitening occurs is identified, and the MFFT value is determined with high accuracy.
This method is widely used in the paint, coating, adhesive, and polymer industries to optimize product performance, control curing behavior, and ensure film integrity under low-temperature conditions. Its compliance with ISO 2115 and ASTM D2354 standards ensures repeatable and reliable test results.
