The TQC MFFT device is a widely used industry-standard instrument for determining the minimum film forming temperature (MFFT) of water-based materials.

By definition, the Minimum Film Forming Temperature (MFFT) is the lowest temperature at which latex emulsions or adhesives form a uniform continuous film when spread as a thin layer.

Accurately determining the MFFT value enables the formulation of products that will properly cure under specified application conditions.

The TQC MFFT operates with a hard chrome-plated copper plate designed to create a very precise temperature gradient. Continuously flowing dry air over the surface prevents condensation, allowing for reproducible test conditions.

Down to -30°C

With the TQC MFFT Test Device, it is possible to test polymers with minimum film forming temperatures below 0°C. The MFFT20 model can measure down to -30°C.

Repeatable Results

With precise sensors and an integrated dry air flow system that prevents condensation and icing, it provides the best repeatable and reproducible results.
