TQC-Sheen Cone and Plate Viscometer CP1
The Cone and Plate Viscometer is a standard test instrument for dynamic viscosity measurements. Since non-Newtonian fluids exhibit different viscosities depending on the applied shear rate, the Cone and Plate Viscometer controls the shear rate up to 10,000 s⁻¹ (as required by British Standards) or 12,000 s⁻¹ (as required by ASTM standards).
The TQC Sheen Cone and Plate Viscometer CP1 is a professional laboratory testing instrument developed to accurately measure the dynamic viscosity of paints, coatings, inks, and other industrial liquids at high shear rates. It simulates the behavior of non-Newtonian fluids under real application conditions, providing viscosity values that are closest to practical application methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying.
The device applies controlled shear rates in accordance with 10,000 s⁻¹ (BS/ISO) and 12,000 s⁻¹ (ASTM) standards, ensuring highly repeatable measurements. Its heated plate system (5°C to 65°C) allows stable and accurate viscosity results independent of temperature variations in the sample, which is especially critical for formulation development and quality control processes.
Thanks to its Cone and Plate geometry, the sample is subjected to a uniform shear stress, enabling highly precise measurements with minimal error. This makes the CP1 viscometer an essential instrument for R&D and quality control laboratories in the paint, coating, adhesive, and chemical industries.
The Cone and Plate base unit does not include the cone kit. Cone kits must be ordered separately.
