Pinhole Detector – DC Compact
Porosity testing enables accurate detection of pinholes, defects, inclusions, thin spots, and blisters in a coating
The DC Compact™ electric pinhole porosity detector, also known as a holiday detector, is ideal for detecting pinholes and other surface defects in insulating coatings such as paints, varnishes, and plastic coatings on all metals and even concrete surfaces.
During testing, the pinhole detector generates low-current high voltage of 0–15 kV or 0–30 kV depending on the model. For the test, the brush electrode is slowly moved over the surface. Any defect creates a spark, while the device simultaneously provides visual and audible alarms. Different types and geometries of brushes are available to ensure optimal defect detection performance on various surfaces.
