Gelling Test – Gel Timer
Gelling Test Device for Paint and Coating Systems

The Gelling Test (Gel Timer) device is a professional laboratory testing instrument developed to precisely and reproducibly measure the gelation time (pot life / gel time) of resins, epoxies, polyurethanes, adhesives, and coating systems. It improves production efficiency by accurately determining the workable time of materials in formulation development and quality control processes.
The instrument continuously monitors the increase in viscosity and clearly detects the gel point using a standardized test cup and a constant-speed rotating mixing system. This reduces operator-dependent errors and ensures consistent results in every test.
The gelation time, which is critical in paint, coating, adhesive, and composite production, directly affects product application performance. Therefore, the Gel Timer is an essential piece of equipment in R&D and quality control laboratories.
This specially designed Minitherm metal thermostat allows temperature control up to 250°C with an accuracy of ±0.1°C. It features a 16 mm diameter circular recess bath.
It complies with DIN 55 990 P.8 and TS EN ISO 8130-6 standards.
