TQC-Sheen ASTM D1200 Ford Viscosity Cups are used to measure the viscosity of paints, varnishes, and other fluids. They are especially common in adjusting the application viscosity of paints, printing inks, and varnishes. Manufactured with high precision, the flow orifice is made of stainless steel, while the body is made of titanium-colored anodized aluminum. These viscosity cups are typically used in laboratories in conjunction with a stand.
ASTM D1200 defines five different cup types: No. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4. The term “5 mm Ford cup” is a common misnomer, often mistakenly referring to either DIN 53211-4mm or Ford No.4 cup.
