Taber 1700 Abrasion Tester (Taber Abraser)
Determination of Abrasion Resistance by Taber Rotary Wheel Test
Taber Abrasion Tester is a testing device used to determine the relative resistance of materials to mechanical abrasive actions such as rubbing, scraping, or erosion.
The Taber Abraser has become the industry standard for evaluating the wear and durability of products such as parquet flooring, metals, leather, textiles, rubber, painted and lacquered surfaces, carpets, and other floor coverings.
Two models are available: Single-Head and Dual-Head. The standard Taber Abrasion Tester accommodates test specimens in square (100 x 100 mm) or round (Ø100 mm) formats up to 6.35 mm in thickness. Specimens ranging from 6.35 mm to 40 mm in thickness require optional accessories.
