PosiTest Pull-Off Adhesion Testers ATM and ATA

The PosiTest Pull-Off Adhesion Tester (ATM and ATA) is a professional quality control instrument developed to measure the adhesion strength of paints, coatings, varnishes, concrete, metal, and composite surfaces. Operating in accordance with ISO 4624 and ASTM D4541 standards, the system accurately and reproducibly determines the tensile force required to detach a coating from its substrate.

The instrument measures the bond strength between the coating and the substrate by applying a perpendicular pulling force to a specially bonded test dolly attached to the surface. Available in both manual (ATM) and automatic (ATA) versions, it provides flexible solutions for a wide range of testing requirements.

The automatic version features an electronically controlled hydraulic pump that performs tests at a constant rate, eliminating user influence and ensuring highly consistent results. In the manual model, the hydraulic pump is operated by hand, and adhesion strength is measured in accordance with ISO 4624 and ASTM D4541 requirements.

Both instruments are equipped with a self-aligning quick-coupling actuator that securely attaches to the test dolly. On the automatic model, adhesion tests can be performed simply by pressing a single button. Users can select PSI or MPa units, specify dolly size, calculate adhesion strength according to international standards, and store measurement results in memory.

The large display includes a peak-hold function for retaining the maximum test value. Measurement data can also be transferred to a PC using a connection cable and software for further analysis and reporting.

The PosiTest AT-M is equipped with a hydraulic pump capable of applying smooth and continuous pressure with a single stroke. Its pull-rate indicator allows the operator to monitor and adjust the pull rate throughout the test.
