Applications and Properties
WorléeKyd S 3001 is a high quality short oil alkyd resin. It is used in high quality primers, one layer- and topcoats. Paints on basis WorléeKyd S 3001 show fast drying, good through drying, high hardness and good weather resistance.
Siccative Recommendation
For the drying of WorléeKyd S 3001 following standard values are proposed:
cobalt containing
approx. 0.06% Co
approx. 0.1 – 0.15% Ca
approx. 0.1 – 0.15% Zr
(metal counted on solid alkyd resin)
cobalt free
a) approx. 1.50 – 2.00% WorléeAdd 2500
b) approx. 1% Nuodex Drycoat (Rockwood)
each counted on solid binder.
In addition the use of secondary driers or special additives is recommended.
approx. 0.15% Ca
approx. 0.15% Zr
and approx. 1% WorléeAdd 2600 for the improvement of the drying and especially the through drying, as well as for curing and drying stability. This addition is especially recommended for the cobalt-free drying b).
