Isocryl EP-570G
GMA matting resin for “one-shot” matt exterior powder coatings with good abrasion resistance and surface flow; also suitable for matt clear coats

Isocryl® EP-570G is a glycidyl-functional acrylic hardener designed to produce low gloss, exterior-durable polyester powder coatings.
Benefits include consistent gloss, smooth matte appearance and dependable performance. Standard and superdurable polyester resins used for TGIC, Primid or Araldite PT-910 powder coatings are well suited for use with Isocryl EP-570G.
A key advantage is its improved burnish resistance over conventional matting hardeners and its predecessors Isocryl EP-550G and EP-560G.
In addition, Isocryl EP570G has substantially improved compatibility with polyester/TGIC and epoxy resin based powder coatings.
ISOCRYL® EP-570G – Key Features
- Designed to achieve pigmented coatings with gloss levels below 10 when used with various standard and super-durable resins in a single extrusion system.
- The best chemical and mechanical properties are obtained by formulating a polyester resin with an acid value of 35, combined with Isocryl EP-570G at a 75:25 ratio and using a secondary crosslinker (Primid® XL-552) at 1% of the total formulation.
- Resins with an acid value below 30 are not recommended for use with Isocryl EP-570G.
- Primid QM-1260 or TGIC can also be used as secondary crosslinkers.
- It is recommended that the level of the secondary crosslinker does not exceed 1.3%, as higher levels may cause uncontrolled gloss variation during processing and application.
- Formulations containing Isocryl EP-570G exhibit high process stability during multiple extrusions and show minimal gloss variation with changes in curing temperature, film thickness, or part mass.
To optimize mechanical and chemical properties, part of the Isocryl EP-570G can be replaced with Isocryl EP-575G.
Formulated powder coatings should be tested for physical and chemical advancement after storage at elevated temperatures.
The recommended storage temperature is below 40°C.
