Test Systems Comprising a Corrosion Test Chamber

S PROCESS SYSTEM (SALT SPRAY) – CORE SYSTEM

ASTM B117, ASTM B368, ISO 9227, DIN 50021, JIS Z 2371

A sodium chloride (NaCl) test solution is sprayed into the test chamber using a dual-nozzle atomizer. Humidified compressed air, generated using demineralized water, draws the solution from a constant level reservoir. The fine salt mist is evenly distributed throughout every corner of the chamber.
The system consists of the following components:

  • Indirectly heated test chamber with electronic temperature control
  • One or more dual-nozzle atomizers, depending on the chamber volume
  • Supply tank for the test solution
  • Constant level reservoir for the test solution (or optionally a digital dosing pump)
  • Humidification system with automatic water feed

K PROCESS SYSTEM (CONDENSING HUMIDITY) – CORE SYSTEM

ISO 6270-2 (CH and AT cycles), DIN 50017 (KK and KTW cycles)

For condensation humidity tests, the bottom of the chamber is filled with water. The base is indirectly heated to enable water evaporation. The system consists of the following components:

  • Test chamber indirectly heated with electronic temperature control
  • Water supply system

B PROCESS SYSTEM (VENTILATION) – AUXILIARY SYSTEM

With K System: ISO 6270-2 (AHT cycle), DIN 50017 (KFW cycle)
With S System: VDA 621-415, VW PV1210, SWAAT ASTM G85 A3, GME 60213

The Ventilation Process System is used to ventilate, dry, and cool the test chamber and the test specimens. Ambient air is passed through the test chamber by means of a fan. In this way, the temperature and humidity of the chamber are reduced to room conditions.
The ventilation system is added as an extension to Salt Spray / Condensation Humidity systems.

W PROCESS SYSTEM (HOT AIR) – AUXILIARY SYSTEM

With S and B systems: ASTM G85 A5 Prohesion
With SKB systems: Nissan 1 and 2, Honda 1, Mazda MCT-1H, Mazda MCT-2M, GME 9540 P

The Hot Air System is used for heating or rapid drying of the test chamber and test specimens. This system operates only in combination with the “B” Ventilation Process System. In this setup, ambient air is heated before being supplied into the test chamber. Temperature can be controlled up to 60°C. This system is essential for combined tests such as Nissan CCT 1 or ASTM Prohesion.

F PROCESS SYSTEM (ADJUSTABLE RELATIVE HUMIDITY) – AUXILIARY SYSTEM

Used together with S, K, B, W Systems: ISO 11997-1, Nissan 4, Volvo 423-0014, Renault D17 2028 ECC1, Daimler PPAP 3002, Ford CETP: 00.00-L-467

The “F” process system is used to control the relative humidity inside the test chamber. This system can only be used in combination with the (B) ventilation and (W) hot air systems. Relative humidity can be controlled from 30% up to 100% over a temperature range from room temperature up to 50°C.

C PROCES SYSTEM (COOLING) – AUXILIARY SYSTEM

Used together with S, K, B, W, F Systems: New VDA 233-102

The “C” process system is used to support the F system in test cycles where rapid changes in relative humidity inside the test chamber are required. In addition, with this system, a low-temperature phase down to -20°C can be applied. The excellent thermal insulation of Liebisch chambers prevents condensation on the outer walls of the chamber.

G PROCESS SYSTEM (GAS) – AUXILIARY SYSTEM

Used together with K, B Systems: DIN 50018, ISO 3231

The “G” Gas Process System is used to automatically dose a defined volume of corrosive gas (sulfur dioxide). At the beginning of the test, a specified amount of gas is introduced into the test chamber. This system is available only as an external unit for KB300 / KBEA300 devices, and as an internal feature for KBG 400 / 1000 SC type devices.
