WorléePur VP Si 4011

WorléePur VP Si 4011 is a high solid, moisture-curing, silane-modified, aliphatic polyurethane based on an linear carbonate diol.

Application and Properties
WorléePur VP Si 4011 is a silane-modified polyurethane. It is suitable for the formulation of base-, clear- and topcoats, forced drying or drying at room temperature. The formulation of stoving enamels is possible. In any case, paints based on WorléePur VP Si 4011 dry very quickly and achieve very good resistance properties within shortest time.

Coatings based on WorléePur VP Si 4011 dry to viscoplastic films with good scratch resistance. Good adhesion on various substrates can be achieved. Glass, ceramics, concrete, but also iron and non-ferrous metals can be mentioned.

For optimal crosslinking a catalyst is needed. For this purpose acids are suitable. Especially good results are achieved with WorléeAdd VP 2100, Nacure 5076 (King Industries), or Nacure 4000 (King Industries).

To control the rheological properties, polyurea-thixotropic binders as e. g. WorléeThix A 1420 or WorléeThix A 2126 are suitable. These are thixotropic binders based on OH functional acrylates. When used as a combination partner, these OH groups need not be crosslinked. The resistance properties are not negatively affected by usual additive amounts.

Catalyst
2.0 – 4 % WorléeAdd VP 2100
1.0 – 2 % Nacure 4000
1.0 – 2 % Nacure 5076
each on solid binder.
In very highly filled systems (e. g. primers) the needed catalyst quantity can be higher.

Handling and Storage
Preferably waterfree solvents should be used. WorléePur VP Si 4011 is delivered in an inflammable solvent. Therefore protect from heat and keep away from open fire. After longer storage WorléePur VP Si 4011 tends to crystallization. This crystallization disappears after heating at approx. 50 °C and has no influence on the product properties. In some systems the use of molecular sieves is recommended.
