WorléePol 6625

WorléePol 6625 is a saturated, branched, low viscous, fatty acid modified polyester resin, mainly for the use in 2 component PUR systems with good weather resistance.

Compatibility
WorléePol 6625 is compatible with short oil alkyd and amino resins, nitrocellulose, cellulose aceto butyrate as well as aliphatic and aromatic isocyanates. Due to the numerous products being on the market we recommend trials in advance. There is partial compatibility with saturated polyester resins and OH group containing acrylic resins.

Solubility
WorléePol 6625 is soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones and glycol ether esters. It is insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons and alcohols.

Application and Properties
WorléePol 6625 is suitable for the manufacture of weather and water resistant 2 component PUR coatings. Aliphatic and aromatic isocyanates can be used, according to the requirements, as reaction partners. The only use of WorléePol 6625, cured with Desmodur N (Bayer), results in relatively slow drying systems. An improvement can be achieved by using also other suitable binders.

Also in the field of furniture coatings WorléePol 6625 can be used. WorléePol 6625 is suitable for clear and also pigmented systems which show excellent resistance properties. For crosslinking with isocyanate, types like Desmodur HL, Desmodur IL (Bayer) can be used. Another application field for WorléePol 6625 in combination with amino resins are high quality stoving systems.

The ratio polyester / urea resin (on solids) is normally 2:1 to 3:1, if melamine resins are used 4:1 to 3:1. The optimum stoving conditions are between 30 min. / 120 °C and 15 min. / 160 °C. Corresponding formulations show good stability in viscosity and are therefore also suitable for dipping application. Due to the relatively low viscosity of WorléePol 6625 it is possible to manufacture medium solids paints.

The cured films show high gloss and good yellowing resistance. Application fields are e.g. refrigerators or other white good coatings etc. WorléePol 6625 can also be used as the binder for pigment pastes. In this connection especially the low viscosity, the good pigment absorption and the wide compatibility have to be stressed.
