Cylindrical Mandrel Bend Test
Cylindrical Mandrel Bend Test is designed to measure the elasticity, elongation and adhesion of a paint film at bending stress on metal panels. Easy-to-use bend test equipment offers straightforward and reliable mandrel testing.
The TQC-Sheen Cylindrical Mandrel Bend Test is used to evaluate the elasticity, adhesion, and elongation of paint applied to a metal panel in accordance with the TS EN ISO 1519 standard. For this test, a metal panel (maximum size: 150 x 100 mm) is bent over a cylindrical mandrel. As the mandrel diameter decreases, the stress on the coating increases. After bending, the test panel is inspected for cracks and damage.
A convenient desktop storage rack for 14 mandrels is optionally available and can also be wall-mounted.
Cylindrical bend testing is a mandatory procedure for laboratories accredited by Qualicoat, QIB, and GSB.
The TQC-Sheen Cylindrical Bend Test is also designed to comply with the latest revisions of ASTM D522, to test for cracking and detachment from the substrate when a coating, paint, varnish, or similar product is bent under standard conditions over a cylindrical mandrel.
This version of the cylindrical mandrel test device includes 7 mandrels according to the imperial measurement system:
1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 1″.
