K-Bar / K-Hand Coater – Mayer Bar Film Applicators

The K-Hand Coater (K-Bar) is a professional coating test instrument that enables precise and controlled film thickness application thanks to its spiral wire-wound Mayer bar design. The structure defined by wire spacing allows for standardized and repeatable film applications.

Offering a wide wet film thickness range from 4 µm to 500 µm, the K-Bar system is widely used for applying paints, printing inks, varnishes, adhesives, and other coating materials onto various surfaces. It is compatible with a wide range of substrates such as paper, plastic, metal, glass, and wood.

The K-Hand Coater allows multiple samples to be applied side by side on the same surface, enabling fast and reliable comparative testing. This feature provides a significant advantage, especially in R&D and quality control processes.

Thanks to numbered and color-coded K-Bar options, different film thicknesses can be selected easily. Its stainless steel rod and wire construction ensure resistance to chemicals and long service life.
