TORUSMILL® SK5 is a high-performance immersion basket mill that delivers excellent grinding results in a very short time. It is available with motor power options ranging from 30 kW to 45 kW for processing low to medium-viscosity products. The clamping device of the TORUSMILL® SK5 basket mill is suitable for container sizes up to 750 liters. Efficient circulation of the millbase throughout the grinding basket is ensured by an integrated, patented pump wheel. This enables a high number of passes and achieves narrow particle size distribution. The dissolver disc mounted beneath the grinding basket ensures grinding with minimal dead volume inside the container.
The double-walled grinding basket is suitable for both cooling and heating systems. Heat generated during the grinding process is effectively dissipated by a spirally directed cooling medium.

The fixed cover of the TORUSMILL® SK5 immersion basket mill allows the shaft height to be easily adjusted even during the fine grinding process. The cover rests securely on the container rim during operation and comes standard with a product feeding system. Various options such as LED lighting for the container lid, PT100 temperature sensor, Liquiphant level switch (also ATEX compliant), inspection windows, and a variety of filling funnels are available.

PLC Technology Control Panel
The graphic display provides visualization of key operating parameters such as speed, power output, peripheral speed of the milling tool, torque, and product temperature. The combination of the graphic display and standardized PLC control allows the control system to be easily adapted and expanded for other process control applications at any time.
The TORUSMILL® SK is equipped with safety devices in accordance with CE standards and local occupational safety regulations.

Fine Grinding Process with the TORUSMILL® SK Basket Mill

The container holding the pre-mixed liquid component is placed under the TORUSMILL® SK and securely fixed. The grinding basket is then immersed into the liquid to be milled.

At this stage, the TORUSMILL® SK begins the main dispersion process for fine grinding. Once the desired fineness has been achieved, the dissolver blade and grinding system are raised above the product surface, and the product remaining in the grinding basket is centrifuged by briefly operating the dissolver blade and grinding system.

Subsequently, the grinding system is fully raised, and the container filled with the ground product is removed for the next processing steps. Cleaning of the grinding system is performed in a separate conical container to minimize the amount of cleaning liquid required.
