Surfix EX / Surfix SX
Modern Coating Thickness Measurement: Graphic Display, PC Connectivity, Easy Operation, and Proven PHYNIX Probes
The standout feature of this new PHYNIX device is its bright color graphic display with enhanced text presentation, supporting a variety of different operating languages. The standard language set now includes English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Czech, and Chinese. Compared to the Surfix series, the internal memory has been significantly expanded and can now store up to 2,000 measurement values. Connection to a computer is established via USB 2.0. The PHYNIX.connect data transfer program, compatible with all modern Windows systems, makes it easy to export measured values to Excel.
Two models are available:
Surfix® SX can be connected to all probes in the PHYNIX probe range. This provides the highest possible flexibility, allowing the device to handle a wide variety of measurement tasks.
Surfix® EX, equipped with a fixed standard probe, is suitable for applications where the measurement tasks are clearly defined. It is easy to use and more cost-effective compared to the Surfix® SX, which features a high-quality connector for interchangeable probes.

All of our measuring probes feature a highly wear-resistant measuring pin made of tungsten carbide, ensuring an almost unlimited service life.
A wide variety of interchangeable probe types offer numerous options for both universal applications and specific measurement requirements. These include some of the world’s smallest probes, enabling reliable measurements even in challenging geometries such as inside tubes, gaps, and pipes.
F-type probes measure only on ferromagnetic metals like steel and iron using the magnetic induction method (TS 2311 / EN ISO 2178). N-type probes measure on non-ferromagnetic metals like aluminum, bronze, and zinc using the eddy current method (TS 2674 / EN ISO 2360). FN-type probes can measure coating thickness on all metal types using both magnetic induction and eddy current methods
